Certificate in Islamic Professionalism and Good Governance

OBJECTIVES
  1. Providing knowledge that differentiates between ‘logic of appropriateness’ and ‘logic of godliness’ in policy and decision making
  2. Exposing participants to current challenges of public and private sector management
  3. Providing enhanced understanding of professionalism and ‘good governance’ processes
  4. Broadening the scope of participants in understanding governance and management
  5. Providing knowledge to develop skills in implementing concepts of professionalism and ‘good governance’ in a holistic manner in order to address the problematization of these ideas
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
  1. Distinguish the values of professionalism and governance from Islamic and conventional  perspectives
  2. Demonstrate the ability to analyze success and failures of modern organization with the possibility to offer solutions based on Islamic principles of professionalism
  3. Quality improvement in governance and policy formulation
  4. Understand the nature, roles and context of modern business and administration
  5. Analyze management situations from ethical perspectives and be able to solve the problems of current business
DURATION OF PROGRAMME
3 weeks of intensive teaching-learning. Program structure should include 27 credit hours of course works in addition to 6 credit hours of a research paper/selected case studies.
PROPOSED CLASS SCHEDULING
1 day of weekday class: Fry 5 pm – 8 pm (3 hours x 2 days = 6 hours)
2 days of weekend class: 10 am – 1 pm (3 hours)
The total number of hours for the course is:
3 hours class meeting for one module x 9 modules = 27 + 6 = 33 contact hours

Participants must attain a minimum fulfillment of80% of class attendance with the submission of research paper in order to graduate
