Master of International Law

LL.M. in International Law is a specialist Programme of the Harun M. Hashim Law Centre, designed to provide skills and expertise needed for international law experts. It has been tailored to reflect a much-needed exposure for those who are practicing or intending to practice international law in government as well as private sector and in international organizations.The Lecturers are experienced Professors and Senior Lecturers of Humanitarian Law, Maritime Law and International Trade Law.

LL.M IS DESIGNED FOR Officer from United Nation Offices, Embassies and High Commissions, Legal Officers/Advisors, Senior Federal/Federal Counsel, Legal Researchers (for Law Reform), Government Officers, Member of Statutory Bodies, NGOs, Executive from Multinational Companies and any qualified individual who woul like to specialize in Human Right & Humanitarian Law, International Trade Law or Maritime Law.

Programme Description

Duration : 1 ½ years – 3 Semester (Full Time)
Class Schedule : Thursday (5.30pm – 9.00pm),
Friday (5.30pm – 9.00pm)
Saturday (9am – 5.30pm)

Duration : 3 Years – 6 Semester (Part time)
Class Schedule : 9.00 am – 5.30 pm (Saturday)

Entry Requirements

  1. Bachelor of Laws with Honours (LL.B. (Hons); OR
  2. Any other degree with two years working experience in the related field; OR
  3. Any other equal qualification approved by the University Authority.

Candidates must have a very good working knowledge of English by :

  1. Producing satisfactory proof of proficiency of English language either Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) with score of 600 or test administered by the International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) with score of 6.0, OR
  2. Under special circumstances, an applicant who is unable to present the required TOEFL or IELTS score shall be required to sit and pass the IIUM-administered English Placement Test (EIPT). The minimum score for EPT is 6.0, OR
  3. Providing proof of attendance or prior education in English-medium institutions that may be exempted from the requirement of TOEFL, IELTS and EPT at the discretion of Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws postgraduate Admissions committee.
